Organifi Green Juice Review: Is It the Real Deal?

Organifi Green Juice ReviewIt’s not a secret that most people don’t consume enough fruits and vegetables, and green powders have become increasingly popular. The thing is, many green powder companies claim eating real fruits and vegetables will become a thing of the past with their products.

Looking at the nutritional labels and the supposed amazing benefits of green powders alone, you might be tempted to assume it’s true. However, are these claims really supported by science? Are green powders really the dietary supplement of the future? And if so, which brands are more legitimate than others?

Well, to help answer your questions, here’s a review one of the most raved-about dietary supplements — Organifi Green Juice. It’s one of the more viral products on the market, with a larger online presence than most. After reading this review, you’ll be better equipped to decide for yourself if this product is indeed effective enough to replace your typical $10.99 salads once and for all.

Before we go into the nutrition aspects of Organifi Green Juice, let’s take a look at its background. Organifi Green Juice is just one of many products Organifi sells — in addition to the Green Juice, the nutrition company also produces and sells the Organifi Red Juice, Organifi Daily Tumeric and the Organifi Protein line, just to name a few. They each have their own specific functions, from improving metabolism to detoxing your liver.

If you enjoy watching nutrition and health videos on YouTube, it’s likely that you’ve seen Drew Canole, the man behind Organifi Green Juice. Not only is he known for his video channel (with over 500,000 subscribers), he’s also known for his passion for juicing, health and mental well-being. Canole’s knowledge as a Nutrition Specialist also helped him in his journey from being a Youtuber to becoming the owner of an entire supplement company.

Today as an entrepreneur, Canole enjoys a whopping audience of about three million people and engages with them through videos and social media. Community building, as he calls it, is an important part of Organifi’s business foundation.

Why exactly do so many people support and subscribe to the brand? Let’s take a look at the benefits that Organifi Green Juice promises in order to find out.

Drew Canole Green Juice

According to the product page, drinking a glass of Organifi Green Juice every morning initiates the body’s process of daily detoxing, producing energy and managing stress. Throughout the rest of the day, it has three main benefits to your body:

Detoxify daily

Firstly, Organifi Green Juice promises to help detoxify your body daily with ease. This is likely to be from the extensive list of superfood ingredients that are used in the blend. There are two proprietary blends on the product label, an Alkaline Greens Proprietary Blend and a Super Food Proprietary Blend.

The Alkaline Greens include Moringa, Chlorella, Mint, Spirulina, Matcha, Wheatgrass, and Lemon. This blend makes up the majority of the supplement in terms of weight. The Super Food Proprietary Blend contains Coconut Water, Ashwagandha, Beets, and Tumeric. We’ll take a closer look at the ingredients later on, but for now, it all looks like high-quality and healthy ingredients.

Boosts Immunity and Defenses

The second benefit of Organifi Green Juice is that it boosts immunity and defenses. Alarmingly, the majority of adults today are vitamin-deficient today, which leaves us vulnerable to bacterial or viral attacks.

The ingredients in this blend are claimed to help to rejuvenate the immune system and build up its defenses, making us less prone to common illnesses such as colds.

One way the product markets itself over other vitamin or health supplements that also claim to boost immunity is the ease of preparing and consuming it. All customers need to do is to scoop the product into water and take it on an empty stomach — all ready in less than a minute.

This seems like a given, but it’s common for products on the market today to be taken only between meals or even require overnight refrigeration. With the easy and hassle-free preparation, it’s more likely that customers take it on a regular basis.

Another feature of Organifi Green Juice is that it’s also USDA certified organic, gluten-free, keto-friendly, dairy-free, soy-free and 100% vegan. Besides being good for your gut, what that this means is that you can rest assured that there are no unwanted cheap fillers in the supplement, unlike some of the multivitamins and other health or dietary supplements on the market today. The said fillers are usually synthetically processed oils, mostly made from soy or soybean products.

Promotes Weight Loss

The third main benefit of Organifi Green Juice is that it increases weight loss safely by helping to burn fat. This is highlighted in the clinical trials that tested the green powder against a placebo powder — amazingly, those that took two scoops of Organifi Green Juice each day reported losing significantly more weight than those who did not, losing an average of four pounds over 90 days.

As for the product itself, a quick look at the product label reveals that every scoop has only 30 calories, with 6 grams of carbohydrates. For the number of nutrients consumed, this is really light on the scale!

For comparison, a banana contains 110 calories with 30 grams of carbohydrates; and an apple has about 130 calories with 34 grams of carbohydrates.

Many of the Organifi Green Juice benefits, if not all of them, rely on the super green ingredients in the blend. If the ingredients in the supplement do bring about the said health benefits and are sufficient to do so, then the product should work 100% of the time.

However, that might not always the case.

Spices and powders on board

It’s a fact that for some of these ingredients, there is available scientific evidence to prove it is “possibly effective” for the body.

For example, Spirulina is a nutrient-dense ingredient that is a type of algae. It is known to possess powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, touted to be able to help prevent cancer, and animal studies indicate that may also lower blood sugar levels significantly.

Mint is also proven to help with indigestion, cramps, and insomnia. Matcha is good for mental alertness and to reduce stress, as well as high cholesterol.

Last but not least, from the superfood blend, Tumeric has been shown to bring health benefits and also is possibly effective for treating osteoarthritis.

Another interesting ingredient in the mix is the Ashwagandha Root, a slightly less common superfood found in green powders. It is said to have a calming effect, and also has properties that help to improve immune function. Chlorella is also notable for being rich in vitamins, antioxidants, minerals, and fiber.

We did some digging and found that Organifi Green Juice contains a specific type of chlorella called Chlorella Vulgaris, the most commonly used across all supplements on the market today. However, there is no information available from Organifi about if the chlorella they used in the Alkaline blend is of the ‘cracked-cell wall’ variety or not. This is important as only the ‘cracked-cell wall’ variety of chlorella is effectively digested in the human body — if not, the body cannot digest it, and no nutrients will be absorbed.

Also, ideally, we should consume 2 to 3 grams of cracked-cell chlorella per day for the most benefit, according to Healthline.com. As for ashwagandha, the ideal amount lies between 300 to 500 mg. What we can say is that far as dosage goes, it checks out proportionally between the alkaline greens blend and the superfood blend.

For every scoop, there is 5.1g of the alkaline greens blend in Organifi green juice, where the chlorella is, enough for a decent serving of organic chlorella. The superfood blend, where the ashwagandha extract is grouped, makes up only 1.45g per scoop, but it’s sufficient for the recommended dosage of ashwagandha.

However, because of the proprietary nature of the blend, there is no information about exactly how much of each ingredient is in every serving, so there’s a fair chance that the mentioned superfoods make up a smaller proportion of the blend than we think.

In addition, for some of the other listed ingredients such as moringa, coconut water, and beets, there is insufficient scientific evidence to pinpoint the exact antioxidant benefits that they bring.

Altogether, this means that as a whole there should be some health benefit from consuming Organifi Green Juice and its superfood ingredients, but until there is sufficient evidence, it’s hard to say if it is really the best detox product on the market today.

A common complaint from customers who consume various green powder supplements is that it tastes bad or has a bad lingering aftertaste. Not for Organifi Green Juice.

According to online reviews both on reseller sites like Amazon and on the product page itself, it seems that many have found the minty taste agreeable to their palates. Some have even gone as far as to incorporate it into fruit smoothies and breakfast cereals!

On the downside, there have been a few complaints that it tastes like “mint-flavored swamp water” or that it was too sweet, so perhaps if you might want to steer clear if you’re not a fan of mint flavors.

The slight sweetness is usually a plus point for green powders that usually just taste like vegetables, so Organifi is actually rather palatable. What’s more, the sweeteners are all made from organic ingredients, so you can rest assured that you’re not adding any additional sugars into your diet.

A bottle of Organifi Green Juice is sold on its product page at $69.95 each.

Each bottle comes with 270g of the supplement powder, and each serving is recommended to be 9g — so every bottle has 30 servings.

It’s recommended to be taken once every day, so each bottle will last approximately a month. That amounts to $2.33 per serving, making it by far one of the more expensive green powder products on the market today.

There are several ways to shave off some of the cost, but you should only go for them if you are sure that you want to take the product for an extended period of time. For example, if you’re buying a single bottle, you can opt to subscribe and receive a new bottle every 30 days. This gives you a 15% discount, reaching a price point of $1.98 per serving.

If you’re not sure about a subscription, however, you can also choose to buy in bulk in a three-bottle or six-bottle package. The former retails at $178.38 and allows you to take each serving at $1.98; while the latter retails at $299.99, amounting to a little under $1.70 per serving.

By no means is it a low price point, so Organifi provides a safety net of a 100% no-risk money-back guarantee. However, some reviews online do say that customer support does not always give leeway for a refund… so buy at your own risk.

A way to check the product out more closely is to see the actual bottles for yourself before making any purchase. In that case, there’s good news as Organifi Green Juice is also available in brick-and-mortar stores, mainly Vitamin Shoppe. However, it’s only available in some states, so it’s a good idea to check it out online on the Organifi website or on Amazon.

How does Organifi Green Juice compare with Supergreen Tonik?

With all that’s been said, Organifi Green Juice supplement is undoubtedly one that lies on the higher end in terms of the value of ingredients, but also in terms of price.

The lack of transparency in the amount of each ingredient is a frustrating problem that haunts almost all green powder products, so it might just be a risk you’ll have to take.

Undoubtedly, this brand is unique in terms of its engagement with customers and variety of related online content, so take advantage of this plus point and take a look at Drew Canolev’s videos and content before making a decision. All in all, it’s definitely a promising product if you’re willing to pay the price, but always remember to eat your vegetables still!
